Heliocentric Inquiry Project
By Adam Bahar
What will I learn?
This is what i learned from my database article:
Heliocentrism is the belief that Earth and the other planets orbit the Sun.But it was once widely dismissed. In medieval Europe, it was even considered religious heresy. Aristarchus of Samos placed the Sun at the center of our solar system but was largely ignored. They envisioned the universe revolving around Earth. Nicolaus Copernicus revived heliocentrism. Like Aristarchus, Copernicus placed the Sun at the center of the universe. Copernicus proposed that Earth, like other planets, orbits the Sun. Today, it is recognized as scientific fact.
This is what I learned from my book:
Aristarchus of Samos is known as the pioneer of the theory that the sun is at the center of the universe and earth revolves around it.
Aristarchus’s only surviving work is on the sizes and distances of the sun and the moon. In the 16th century, Aristarchus was the Inspiration for the work of polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Nicolaus Copernicus is considered as the founder of modern astronomy. Copernicus determined that the sun, not earth, was the center of the universe. Galileo is known as the first astronomer to use a telescope.
By discovering Jupiter, he gave visual evidence to Copernicus’s theory.

The Scientific Revolution, which took place in the 16th and 17th centuries, was a time of unprecedented learning and discovery. While Copernicus was not the first to propose a model of the Solar System in which the Earth and planets revolved around the Sun.when it comes to astronomy, the most influential scholar was definitely Nicolaus Copernicus, the man credited with the creation of the Heliocentric model of the Universe. Nicolaus Copernicus was credited because he had more structured evidence.

Let me show you the genius I am:
My creative response is based on what I learned in my research. I will explain…The heliocentric theory by Copernicus and Galileo has been difficult to prove then and now because there was not enough evidence and it impacted the world by proving people of the past wrong and proving that the sun is in the center of the solar system, not the Earth.
Reflection:
How does this impact my world?
it impacted the world by proving people of the past wrong and proving that the sun is in the center of the solar system, not the Earth.
